irfan's 6th birthday

 we celebrated irfan's birthday by inviting irfan's friends and some close friend of alia from our neigbourhood. First time buat sendiri birthday cake---rainbow cake, irfan requested angry bird.

 

 bought happy meal, masak spagetti & meatballs, fried chicken, chicken nuggets, fruits and some kuih courtesy of a neighbour.

 tak sempat nak amik gambar with unopened presents...rupanya masa main game irfan dah curik2 masuk bilik & bukak hadiah. A very happy boy that night...

bakes and cakes - banoffee pie

i made this pie last when we went back to seremban

 

the recipe was taken from a few websites, but it was basically using a digestive crumbs and melted butter for the base

 the toffee is actually a dulche de leche , just bake the condensed milk in the oven, tips taken from davidlebovitz.com

close up of yummy dulche de leche, would probably taste a lot better if our condensed 'creamer' is actually made from milk.

 cream puff with whipped cream and strawberries

 happy tengok cream puff naik..the last time i made this tak jadi...not sure what happened but the dough looks too oily compared to the previous and this one

 

 vanilla meringue with cream, strawberries and strawberry jelly

 

 yummy, but for irfan i prepared without strawberries because he doesn't like anything sourish

with crushed pineapple..the cake is surprisingly light and airy

You have always been a cheeky boy and very manja as well. Today on your 6th birthday mama wishes you Happy birthday Irfan, semoga Irfan menjadi anak yang soleh dan mendapat kejayaan di dunia dan akhirat.

a day trip to genting

 this was dec last year, the last week of dec, we decided to take a day trip to genting

 irfan was so excited bila sampai...the last time we came here he was still in a stroller, with the previous bibik

 irfan first time naik ni..memula nampak muka takut2..dah nak abis baru ok..bila tanya kata best



bumper car ride for alia

 i think this is his favourite..naik dekat 10 kali kot..lepas geram sebab dapat tengok je kakak naik yang adult bumper car

boat ride..tak lama lepas ni hujan..main indoor la jawapnye..

 cheese cupcake with cream and frozen raspberry

 ready to be eaten.. a hit with alia but irfan not a fruit lover prefers oreo cheese cupcake, which i made using the same cheesecake recipe but by adding crushed oreo

 cinnamon pull apart bread...DH and alia loves this, very easy to make recipe taken from kitchenguardian...easier than cinnamon buns

i have lots of photos and stories but most of it is in my personal laptop and right now it cant seem to be able to link with my wifi, don't know how to trouble shoot . DH is having similar problems with his own notebook. May be i'll just wait for him to figure it out.

late lunch at tranquerah

DH wanted to try this restaurant since it was featured in masterchef, so one sunday we both went there for a late lunch

 this restaurant is at encorp strand, not at the strand shop lot..you have to park your car and walk to find the restaurant

 inside the restaurant..some of it reminds me of my childhood in melaka, makes it kind of nostalgic to eat here

we ordered ikan gerang assam..a must try here

 sotong goreng tepung...drizzled with sweet sauce..sedap
