ready to be eaten.. a hit with alia but irfan not a fruit lover prefers oreo cheese cupcake, which i made using the same cheesecake recipe but by adding crushed oreo

cinnamon pull apart bread...DH and alia loves this, very easy to make recipe taken from kitchenguardian...easier than cinnamon buns

DH wanted to try this restaurant since it was featured in masterchef, so one sunday we both went there for a late lunch

this restaurant is at encorp strand, not at the strand shop lot..you have to park your car and walk to find the restaurant

inside the restaurant..some of it reminds me of my childhood in melaka, makes it kind of nostalgic to eat here

we ordered ikan gerang assam..a must try here

sotong goreng tepung...drizzled with sweet sauce..sedap

rainbow cake...been wanting to bake this for quite some times and since i have extra egg whites from creme brulee, bolehla cuba. Recipe from Martha Stewart, basically a white cake recipe with addition of colours. Leceh jugak nak buat sebab u need to weigh the cake batter roughly the same weight and since i only have 2 cake pans of the same size, need to wash and reuse the moment you took out the cake.

But the result were worth all the troubles..

from the top, with cream cheese topping (the only topping that my kids like). Would be better if the topping has slightly harden before piping, but as usual, when baking with kids around you are hardly unlikely to be able do ask them to wait for long. Gave some to my neighbours as i know we couldn't finish all this by ourselves.

creme brulee, bake this twice in 24 hours as my kids loved it and were fighting for the last one. Kesian pulak tengok..tak pe mama buat lagi, senang je, cuma it only uses egg yolks and i don't like to keep egg whites for long...dah kena pikir nak buat apa with egg whites pulak..alhamdulillah, dapat buat rainbow cake yang kat atas tu.

churros for breakfast, alia's request. Recipe using basic choux pastry recipe, the difference is you pipe and fry the dough instead of baking it.

good to be eaten straight from the fryer..top with cinnamon sugar.

We finally managed to go to JPO bila balik kampung during Christmas break. It was less than 2 hours drive from Jasin. Sampai sana pukul 9.30am...kedai pun tak bukak lagi, but customers dah ada yang menunggu.

our dessert..lunch was at food court..irfan tidur during lunch, jadi bila dapat crepe...almost 3/4 habis, lagi satu we share among the 3 of us..filling banyak choice not like what we usually have in klang valley

after lunch, round skali lagi, tengok coach outlet orang beratur nak masuk...hihihi, masa masuk pagi tadi tak de line langsung. Burberry is another outlet yang orang beratur nak masuk. price is definitely cheaper than outside, but during sales price might be the same for some items. Of course yang tak de discount kat luar macam clarks, levis, memang worth buying, but of course..buying online direct from USA is much cheaper even after you include the shipping charges, but if you are the type yang kena pegang/rasa barang before buying or not comfortable buying online, then this is a place to shop.

the first time camping experience for the kids, went to camp abc at janda baik

tapi bila kena air...sejuk..irfan tak nak mandi.

last-last, pujuk punye pujuk, masuk gak..tapi tak suka bukan sebab sejuk tapi sebab batu, tak dapat nak mandi comfortably

macam dekat water park pulak tengok these guys main pelampung besar tu, wish we had that

dalam khemah, masa resting..tiba-tiba ada kertas dibaling masuk..rupa-rupanya kakak ajar irfan tulis message...pandai jugak bebudak ni kill the time bila tak de tv/notebook/tablet/wii etc

pagi-pagi bangun tangkap gambar the kids soundly sleeping...i terjaga tengah malam sebab angin kuat and our khemah bergoyang2, but tanya the kids, sorang pun tak sedar

the perks of camping compared to staying in chalets, you are the closest to this beautiful view, just a several steps from our camping ground....can you see a man fishing in this photo?

red velvet cuppies..my kids loves this more than the cake

the texture resembles moist chocolate cake, dense and moist, yummy

jelly pelangi, recipe taken from my cousin. when it comes to jelly, i'm a beginner as i don't like jelly in general but my kids loves it, guess i'll be making this again, but need to stick to fewer colours or use more jelly.

i remembered a time when alia wanted to try ice-skating in sunway pyramid. i told her i'll bring her soon. two weeks later i was pregnant with irfan..now irfan is already 5plus and i still haven't brought alia ice skating..so this is the closest to ice skating that you get..bukan apa alia, mama tak pernah ice skate, after a certain age kalau jatuh memang le teramat sakit.

on one hand you somebody who hasn't skated her whole life and on the other someone who hasn't skated for more than 20 years, bila dah pakai nak gerak seinci pun rasa tak confident

for several rounds i kept holding on from bar to bar and was always behind alia. Alia jatuh tak tau berapa kali but she was determined to learn how to skate. after 2 round she ask to change from roller skate to rollerblade. the moment she tried rollerblade, she almost give up and wanted to changed to roller skate again but i ask her to keep on trying, at least for one round. i memang pakai skate masa kecik, so i'm more comfortable with it.

after one round she was ok with it and keep going, but i was always near just in case she fell down and no one was there to help her. at one time we were side by side but not long after i felt down...OUCH!!

after 2 hours of skating i sat down and told her to inform if she's ready to go. about 20 minutes later she's done. keluar and look for food

at chilla cup after ordering they gave you those thinggy and when you drink is ready it will buzz for you to take yr drink

alia makan thick toast with butter and caramel

i ate tortilla with double cheese..sebab lapar both of us finished our meal. overall it was a good experience, wouldn't mind going there again.

i'm sure those of you who are bookworms know of big bad wolf sale at MAEPS thats ongoing now. we went there to stock up our 'bookshelves''. Irfan rambang mata bila kat kids section, kejap nak yang ni, kejap tukar, kejap nak dua2. As usual, at book warehouse sale i just grab what i think i wanted, bila nak bayar baru go through one by one, but somehow tak terfikir nak bawak trolley bag like some of the customer, jadi tangan memang satu je free, satu lagi kepit buku.I think this is one of the best book warehouse sale that i've went to because the place is huge and comfortable and ample parking, not like you have to park by the roadside at some of the places in the past.

yesterday i had a meeting in shah alam that ended early and decided to drop by the shah alam library. i've been here a few times but always with the kids and DH and i never did get a chance to explore the library fully. I reach there around 5pm and went straight to the red spot books...hahaha so nerdykan? thinking that i can find what i wanted pergilah carik rak by rak...tak jumpa. hmmm kena tanya librarian pulak dah...bila check in the system memang dah lalu rak tu tapi macam mana boleh tak perasan?

masa di JB hari tu, nak makan light dinner di sekinchan ikan bakar, tapi yang tinggal cuma ikan bakar dan nasi, yang lain dah abis, jadi cancel air, masuk keta, round2 kat area situ nampak one halal indian restaurant...okla bolehla ni..bila dah order waiter letak daun pisang atas meja. Irfan terus tanya, mama ni apa? ni daun pisang..jadi pinggan, makan atas ni. diam. ingat dah faham tapi bila nasi datang dalam mangkuk for us to share, dia nak letak mangkuk tu atas daun pisang

laa...itu bukan place mat la irfan..bila all of us amik nasi letak atas daun pisang baru dia percaya. it never occur to me that this is the first time irfan makan kat restoran daun pisang. Cuma order one chicken and one vege dish. no food photos sebab dah kepenatan, almost 11pm masa ni kalau tak silap.

raya open house started at 3 pm...sebelah pagi ada jiran yang tak dapat datang singgah sekejap, so since dessert je yang ada, dessertla yang dihidang. siapa yang datang awal dapatlah makan my homemade dessert, yang datang lewat sbb dessert dah abis, dihidang dessert yang dibawa/beli oleh my guests. thank you pada yang bawa ole-ole.

choco blackcurrant cookies and kuih makmur, both cookies ni alia yang buat, i just prepare the kacang for kuih makmur and keluar/masuk oven. weighing, mixing, shaping all done by alia with my supervision

blondies yang buat semalam, yummy! this is for bawak balik kampung

my perennial favourite, english shortbread cookies, made some for mom as well. DH got a kuih raya hamper with about 4-5 types of cookies inside. Guess i wont be baking anymore cookies soon. Biskut kat rumah ni, kalau lepas raya dah tak laku, i guess cukuplah yang ada untuk tetamu yang datang.

i made using 2 eggs white and manage to get 30 macs...these are the only ones left lepas kluar oven. tak sempat nak letak cream/choc ganache...DH and kids tak sabar..self service je la.

next time boleh buat lagi. credit recipe to kitchen guardian. the first time punya gambar tak payah tunjuk..it was a disaster

it was late at night when i went to the hospital, in fact i actually reached there at mid night. DH came from seremban two hours later. slightly more than 4 hours later you were born. today you are 10 years old. You are our love and pride. i bought macarons from milkadeal.com sometimes back with 12 macarons for RM12 which is a steal considering a small macarons are usually sold at min RM2. Beli 2 kupon plak tu...sebab tau kalau beli satu mesti tak cukup, kena berebut dengan alia. i requested for multiple colours and flavours.

this trip was made a few days before raya haji. we just wanted to get out of kl for a short while. the kids really enjoyed the trip. irfan sampai dah seminggu lebih pun still cakap 'bestlah tengok gajah hari tu...". i guess we can always go the second time and this time pergi deer park skali.

the kids wanted to play here but i told them to wait for papa coz i'm not very sure of their safety here in terms of irfan being able to climb all the way up and down and whether you can just go off shopping leaving them here. i remembered DH told me that irfan tak dapat masuk alone once coz he's not big enough and alia's not there to teman him the last time. And there's no way i'm gonna wait for them at their cafe/waiting area for hours. so since papa was back for raya haji, apalagi, alia terus mintak nak main kat sini.

we let them play for 2 hours, ajak keluar tak nak..then let them play for another hour

because they are busy playing, we just ask irfan what bag he wanted for kindie, ben 10 or transformers? sebab suka sangat main, tak kisah pun tak dapat pilih beg sendri. bila dapat...terus nak pakai

alia and irfan took a lot of photos in when we were in melbourne coz it was the first time the got hold of a camera. this is was when we walked to sydney road which about 700m from our place. Not a big deal for me but i guess it was quite far especially for irfan. in order to keep him occupied i asked him to pose, play some silly games and showed them interesting stuff along the way. masa ni jalan lenggang kangkung and muka pun happy lagi.

this is when i was window shopping at the small factory outlet there...it's not easy window shopping let alone shopping with two kids tagging you.

this raya break i went to a spa to have a body massage. went to the spa above and try their massage, it was a bit different from the traditional malay/indonesian massage. halfway through the massage the masseur offered me to try guasa saying that my body has a lot of 'angin'. after some times trying to convince me to try it, (her trying to make me understand and i'm trying my best trying to figure out whether she was speaking mandarin, english or malay), i said ok.

hmmm..red patches are signs of toxins released from the body...betul ke? and is there a medical terminology for body which has a lot of angin? something to do with lymphatic system? i didn't really enjoy the guasa experience as it was on the painful side and i ended up with a lot of red patches on my back. a simple massage would do. a hot stone massage would be better.

Haah.....mana datang ular ni? tanya punya tanya rupanya bila bukak pintu irfan nampak ular, terus tutup pintu bagitau maid. maid pulak bawak kayu panjang bukak pintu pelan2, nampak ular(cobra), terus jerit kat sebelah rumah mintak tolong. tak lama kemudian sekuriti datang dan dengan beraninya buka lemari kasut (yang ada ular) dan pukul dengan kayu, tolak ular keluar and terus pukul sehingga mati. bila dah mati dengan selambanya terus pegang ular tu with bare hands dan dibuang tah kat mana.

question is...mana datang ular tu? dari rumah kosong hujung yang semak tu ke? tak lama dulu pun masa gotong royong bersihkan rumah tu ada jumpa 2 ekor ular. (itu pun gotong royong after my previous maid jumpa ular tengah jalan, again with irfan at that time)

i'm just thankful that nobody get bitten in the first place and irfan knows that ular is dangerous.

this photo was taken last month before the fasting month. as always shopping for baju raya will be done before fasting starts, kalau tak memang mencabar kesabaran sungguh. since papa is not around mama yang decide for irfan and give suggestion to alia.

i've baked the red velvet cake many times before coz irfan loves them, but of course the kids will always prefer it to be in cupcake cases than in one large pan.

the reason it's here coz i need to ask DH to buy the silicone cases as a dozen would not be enough for a normal mixture and it's damn expensive here. so dear, please buy at least another dozen of these ye.

i wanted to try this for quite some times already. it's just that i didn't find any cafe that sell these cute macarons till i read about whisk in empire subang. since i went there for a reunion, i stop by to get some. i was confused between macarons and macaroons till i googled them. yup, it was macarons that i wanted to try...to bad that they didn't have any of those purple coloured/lavender flavoured ones. the ones in the photo was chocolate, pistachio (yummy), lemon strawberry and pandan.

seeing these macarons and the fact that i couldn't get enough of them made me wanted to make it myself, i mean how difficult can it be, right?, after i googled for the recipes and tips ( you have to keep the egg white at room temperature for 5-7 days (what???), grind the almond finely with some suggesting 3 times, waiting for the mixture to harden before putting it in the oven...) i decided not to. I'll just stop by more often at whisk..it seems the easier choice.

The one joining the gathering were izza & her baby adilah, mas, sayonara, raihan, haniza, marina, azlinda, suzana, helena,and of course azida and I. Apart from azida which I meet at least on a monthly basis if not more often, the rest of the group I have not meet since my schooldays..which were 18 years back.

but when you are with friends, especially school friends, that doesn't really matter as everybody seems to gel together

ann had her birthday celebration early this month. since alia bday was just a few days apart nanny decided to celebrate bday dua2 skali. the cake of course is for ann yg 10 thn but nanny is kind enough to include alia's name in the cake as well
